Over at the NY Post, they hired actors as part of an interesting social experiment.
Well, somewhat interesting. They had said actors dress as certain fashion/personality stereotypes and attempt to get into the city's most exclusive clubs.
The roster included: European looking guy with unbuttoned dress shirt and white pants, A tiny nerd with huge glasses, aka Sponge from "Salute your Shorts!", a cougar who is probably an extra on Sex and the City, a businessman in his 40's, a "nerd chic" girl sporting frames no one has worn since 1992 (I guess that makes it hipster fashion), and a girl dressed like she belongs on Jersey Shore.
Not surprisingly, Jersey Girl got into the most clubs (Young, hot ass can't be denied!)
But the people at NY Post were shocked that that businessman/dad came in a close second place.
I guess they forgot to consider the fact that if the guy is wearing a suit, he probably has plenty of money to spend. And according to the article, several of the bouncers imposed ridiculous limits just for the dad to get in, like buying a $100 bar tab or a $300 bottle of liquor.
Is your city like this? Here in the midwest, there is virtually no such thing as an exclusive club where you have to wait in line and be sized up or be on some guest list just to be considered for getting in. You just pay the bouncer a cover fee, make sure you are
A. Wearing a shirt with sleeves
B. Ready to dance the night away to bad rap / r&b
And then you're good to go!
